Vandrunen Law

Vandrunen Law contacted me when Google started disabling their ad campaigns. Google had flagged their site for security issues, which was cutting off a primary source of client leads. They needed someone to handle WordPress maintenance and ensure their site stayed compliant with Google's requirements.

Security Updates

The site needed updates to WordPress Core, PHP, and several plugins to bring everything current. I updated the core system and all active plugins, then removed development tools that were left over from the original site build. Things like page duplicators and migration plugins are useful during setup but aren't needed once a site is live.

I installed Wordfence to add real-time security monitoring and protection against common WordPress vulnerabilities. Set up rate limiting and brute force protection to mitigate automated login attempts. I also reorganized the hosting environment, fixing file permissions and cleaning up old folders that had accumulated over time. The hosting account needed some security tightening as well. I updated FTP credentials, removed unused access points, and configured the default admin account properly.

Site Improvements

I configured automatic updates for WordPress Core and plugins so security patches apply without manual intervention going forward. This keeps the site protected between our regular maintenance check-ins.

Installed YoastSEO to give them better control over how their pages appear in search results and what content gets indexed. Made some content updates they needed: corrected email addresses in the header and footer, fixed the 404 page styling, and adjusted some CSS spacing.

Since they run a static professional site rather than a blog, I disabled commenting, author archives, and blog feeds. This reduces maintenance overhead and removes features they weren't using.

The site now maintains consistent uptime, their Google Ads run without disruption, and they have ongoing support for updates and technical maintenance as needed.

Ongoing Support

I now monitor Vandrunen Law's site, receiving weekly security and dependency update emails, and addressing them as required. Leaving the management to RedOxfordOnline allows the Vandrunen team to trust that their site is always up to date, and that when a problem occurs it will be dealt with swiftly and professionally.
